KAAR Members Join Statewide Day on the Hill
On Tuesday, January 30, the Knoxville Area Association of Realtors® took part in the statewide Realtor “Day on the Hill” at our state capitol.
KAAR brought over 50 of the 400 Realtors who attended this important political advocacy event, which gives Realtors a chance to meet their elected officials and speak on issues important to Realtors and their clients.
KAAR's jurisdiction covers 12 counties in East Tennessee so its group split up into teams and met with a total of 15 legislators covering 5 counties that day: Lt Gov Randy McNally, Representatives Harry Brooks, Kent Calfee, Martin Daniel, Bill Dunn, Roger Kane, Jimmy Matlock, Jerome Moon, John Ragan, Rick Staples, Jason Zachary, and Senators Mike Bell, Dr. Richard Briggs, Becky Duncan Massey, and Art Swann.
Main talking points concerned bills on short-term rentals, the professional privilege tax, landlord rights, and foreclosure processing. Read and download the Tennessee Realtors Key Issues pamphlet here.
The day culminated with a group photo on the floor of the House of Representatives.
