What is a REALTOR®?
A real estate licensee is designated as a REALTOR® when he or she becomes a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NAR), The Voice for Real Estate®, which is the world's largest professional association.
The term REALTOR® is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional as a member of NAR who subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics. Not all real estate licensees are Realtors®.
Why join the Knoxville Area Association of REALTORS® (KAAR)?
- KAAR Is Time-Honored. Founded in 1912, KAAR has served the real estate interests of our members and the public for over 100 years. More than 3,500 REALTORS® hold active membership in KAAR, specializing in every aspect of the real estate industry, including residential, commercial, property management, and appraisal services. Our membership is also comprised of more than 150 individuals associated with affiliated area industries, including mortgage banking, property inspection, title and closing services, and insurance.
- KAAR Is Expansive. KAAR's jurisdiction covers a wide area of 12 counties: Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Cumberland, Fentress, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Scott, and Union Counties.
- KAAR Offers Benefits Galore. As a KAAR member, you will receive access to networking events, FlexMLS, the Professional Standards Program, the Tennessee Association of REALTORS® (TAR) legal hotline, NAR REALTOR® benefits, free continuing education and so much more.
KAAR membership also opens the door to opportunities to be involved in your community, to form and foster life-long partnerships, and to help others realize the American dream of home ownership.
